Press Release
Coutts and OCLC announce today that Coutts Information Services will become the first North American vendor to become a partner in the WorldCat Selection service.
Keith Schmiedl, Technical Services Director for Coutts, says: ‘Our participation in the WorldCat Selection service allows us to add further value to our new title selection services to libraries in North America and around the world, by helping librarians save time and streamline their selection and ordering process.’
Coutts already offers fully integrated workflow solutions for selection, acquisition and cataloging through its proprietary user interface, OASIS™. Coutts recently announced the launch of Version 3 of OASIS™. Now Coutts clients have the option of using one system platform to access new title information from multiple vendors.
About OCLC WorldCat Selection Service
The WorldCat Selection service helps libraries save time and money by streamlining selection and ordering processes for new library materials, and delivering the corresponding WorldCat records.
Coutts has partnered with OCLC to help make library processes more efficient by offering its new title information through WorldCat Selection.
OCLC and Cornell University Library staff have worked together to develop this service, which is based on software known as the Integrated Tool for Selection and Ordering at Cornell University (ITSOCUL).
WorldCat Selection allows selectors of new materials to review notification records from multiple vendors in one central, comprehensive system.
